OCR C Maths GCSE (J517) - Modular:
Exam dates and papers
Students normally sit 3 module tests, usually over a two-year period,
as follows:
• 1st module test January Year 10
• 2nd module test June Year 10
• 3rd module test March Year 11
However, the modules can be taken in any of the three sessions each year
subject to their availability. Module 10 can, from January 2010, be taken
in January of year 11.
In theory, there is no limit on the maximum number of different modules
that a candidate can take. Candidates can sit two (or even three) modules
in one session. However, schools generally enter students for three.
Each module test is in two sections, A (calculator allowed) and B (non-calculator),
each lasting for 30 minutes. The entry codes for the modules are B271
to B280 for M1 to M10 respectively.
Candidates sit one Terminal Paper at their chosen tier of entry, foundation
of higher. Each Terminal Paper is split into two sections (A – non-calculator,
B – calculator) each lasting for one hour.
Exam dates for 2009/10
Module tests: January 21, March 8, June 21
Terminal paper: Jan 15, June 7.
